Community Garden Day this Saturday, May 11

Hi All,
Volunteers from the area have been converting some vacant lots at 30th and Lafayette St. into a community garden. You, your neighbors, and everyone you know is invited to come out this Saturday to help prepare one of the final beds for planting this spring.

When: this Saturday, May 11
Where: 3060 Lafayette St.
Time: 10-whenever you get tired of it
Misc: Complimentary coffee and healthy snacks provided
If you can bring a shovel and especially a wheelbarrow it would help a lot. Mark it with your name to make sure it goes back home with you.
Water provided, just bring your own bottle.

Background: The land is on property of Northeast Denver Housing—a non-profit that is creating housing opportunities for underserved populations in Whittier. One purpose of the garden is to provide healthy, low cost food for NDH residents. Plot priority is given to NDH residents, but there are LOTS more plots available. Interested? Contact Reuben Gregory: reubengregory@me.com.

Whether you want a plot, or are just willing to help an exciting community project please join us. We look forward to seeing you there!
